The Iowa Young Writers’ Studio (IYWS) is now offering online courses for high school students! These courses are offered independently of the summer residential program. The deadline to apply has been extended to Friday, April 21, 2017.
This summer, 2017, the IYWS will offer two online courses, one in fiction writing and one in poetry writing. Both courses will be taught by graduates of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. The courses will run for six weeks, from June 26 through August 3, 2017.
The courses will be asynchronous, meaning that you can do the assignments and participate in the discussions on your own schedule in your free time. Students who complete the course and meet all requirements will receive one college credit from the University of Iowa.
