IWP Residents to Give Poetry Reading in Chicago

The Poetry Foundation will host a reading with 2015 International Writing Program Fall Residents Villeda (Mexico) and Mookie Katigbak-Lacuesta (Philippines), with Chicago-based poets Lisa Fishman and Daniel Borzutzky.

The event begins at 7 p.m. on September 24th and is free to the public. A reception follows the program. For more information about the event, visit the Poetry Foundation's website.

Each year, roughly 30 emerging and established writers from around the world travel to Iowa City, IA, a UNESCO City of Literature, for a ten-week residency at the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program. Writers in residence participate in reading tours that introduce American writers to other cultures, fostering global artistic exchange.
