Workshop alumnus Adam Haslett is a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize in Fiction, for his novel, Imagine Me Gone, "the quiet and compassionate saga of a family whose world is shaped by mental illness and the challenges and joys of caring for each other."
This is the second time Haslett's work has been honored by the Pulitzer Foundation; his debut story collection, You Are Not a Stranger Here, was a 2003 Pulitzer Prize Finalist, as well as a finalist for the 2003 National Book Award.
Imagine Me Gone was also a finalist for the 2016 National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction, and longlisted for the 2016 National Book Award. His novel, Union Atlantic, was the winner of the Lambda Literary Award and a finalist for the Commonwealth Prize.
Adam Haslett visited and read at the Iowa Writers' Workshop earlier this month.
