When two Iowa Writers' Workshop graduates, J.W. Marshall and Christine Deavel, opened their Poetry-only bookstore 'Open Books: A Poem Emporium' in the Seattle area twelve years ago, they never suspected this much success. "Open Books seems a throwback to another era, maybe another century. All of the ledgers are still hand-written, one of the personable co-owners is always stationed at the front desk.
