Monday, March 5, 8:00 PM: Fiction writer James Salter, a guest of the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop, will present a free reading in the Frank Conroy Reading Room of the Schaeffer Library and Archives, the recently dedicated addition to the UI Dey House.

Salter is known as a "writers' writer," or, in the words of the critic James Wolcott, our "most underrated underrated writer." He won the PEN/Faulkner Award in 1989; he was New York State Writer from 1998 to 2000; and he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2000.
