Paul Harding, winner of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for fiction and an alumnus of the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop, will give a free reading at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 21, in Shambaugh Auditorium in UI Main Library.

Harding won the Pulitzer for his novel Tinkers, which Pulitzer judges praised as "a powerful celebration of life in which a New England father and son, through suffering and joy, transcend their imprisoning lives and offer new ways of perceiving the world and mortality."

At the Writers' Workshop, Harding studied with Pulitzer winner Marilynne Robinson, Elizabeth McCracken, and Barry Unsworth. He was a visiting faculty member for the 2010 spring semester.
