Second Life Poetry Reading

Kate Thorpe, a first-year poet in the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, will read current works in progress from an untitled, newly-developing project. The project in particular addresses questions of bridging or extending distance—historical, linguistic, textual, and geographical—looking especially at the role of letters in creating or bridging distance. The project also concerns a poetic character named “Horatio” who is somehow implicated in the act of composing or receiving letters.
