Oral Hygiene

I take a toothbrush

and wet it with holy water

Like a rag soaked in gasoline

the brush begins to burn

The bristles burn on and on

near the profane water tap

I take the flaming brush

and one by one I clean my teeth

If the fire on the brush burns out

we’ll suddenly all burn out

I pray it keeps on burning

and frees my speech from sin

With my mouth full of ashes I’ll

be able to smile at the Almighty
